little earthquakes

Today a massive earthquake struck Japan, resulting in much devastation and loss.

Today a student came to tell me that she had been molested by her uncle.

Today I learned that sometimes the little earthquakes can be just as devastating and earth shattering in their own way.

Today you can do something to help the earthquake victims in Japan -- just text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Visit American Red Cross for more information. And you can also do something today to help victims of child abuse -- just call 1-800-4-A-CHILD. Visit Child Help for more information.

Just... wow. So much sadness. I now understand your earlier tweet. I hope the overwhelm doesn't come to visit. Take good care.

Oh wow. What a sad and difficult situation to have to deal with :o( Poor girl. Thankfully, she opened up and told you something. Some people are just too afraid.

Oh hun. My heart just breaks for you and for that student. I'm glad she has you in her life.

So sorry about your really rough day. Trauma is draining, even when it isn't your own. But I'm sure your student feels a massive weight off her shoulders just from having told someone. Hopefully you can shake it off (for the most part) this weekend.
