Happy Friday

So. It's Friday. Why am I not happy that it's Friday? Because our last-minute-road-trip-of-awesomeness is not looking too good at the moment. You see, when we decided DC wasn't going to happen this weekend (too expensive), we decided to take a mini road trip up to Orlando instead to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. This wasn't supposed to happen until my birthday in October, so needless to say, I was very, very stoked.

But then Ricky's car started acting funny last night. He's on his way now to get it checked. He hasn't gotten it checked in a while, so chances are it might need repairs. Expensive ones, at that. Which would then mean that our last-minute-road-trip-of-awesomeness will not happen. And then I will be the saddest girl in the history of sadness. And girls. And history.

So cross your fingers, eyes, toes, etc. for us, would you???

Edit: It turns out the car repairs are going to be expensive, much more so than anticipated. So no road trip for us. :-( On the bright side, we decided to treat Miami like tourists this weekend and try to have as much fun as we can in our own city. There are a tons of stuff we haven't seen, which we always take for granted, so hopefully this will be a fun challenge.

Here's my answers to Lauren's fill in the blank for this week. If you want to play along, make sure to link up at her blog!

1.  Today for breakfast I ate  a mini bagel slathered in peanut butter and a cup of hot chocolate, the one from Swiss Miss with the explosion of marshmallows? Aw, yeah.

2.  My go to/never fail recipe  is spaghetti. It's one the one dish I can't mess up (much) .

3.  Something I eat that other people think is weird is  bubble tea. Though it's starting to catch on.

4.  My worst cooking disaster ever was  when I started a small fire in the kitchen as a teenager. The worst part? I was making a grilled cheese sandwich. Kitchen FAIL.

5.  If I could only eat one flavor of ice cream the rest of my life it would be  Rocky Road. Chocolate ice cream + nuts + marshmallows = extremely happy me.

6.  One food I hate and avoid at all costs is  fish. Just the smell of it makes me feel sick
.

7.  What is your favorite meal?  Breakfast, lunch, or dinner?  breakfast. I would eat it morning, noon, and night if I could. (And I sometimes do! :-D)

I hope you have a magical weekend! :-)

Awww, so sad for you about your road trip, cause the Harry Potter Wizarding World sounds super fun! Glad you decided to "make lemonade," so to speak, and galavant around Miami like you've never seen it before. :) I lived in Miami for four months in 2004 when I was on a fellowship (I was teaching at the FCI Miami), and I definitely did not experience the city the way I should. I didn't know anyone and I worked at a prison, so it's not like I could really hang out with the people at work, hahaha! I saw the major sites and neighborhoods, but I think it takes a local to really see a city the right way. Good luck finding new things!

I'm so jealous of you getting to go to Harry Potter World! Sorry you couldn't go now but it'll be extra special when you do get to go for your birthday.

Don't you hate it when plans fall apart? :(
My mom makes sure my car gets it's early maintenance. I thank God she works at a dealership and is car-smart. :)
But at least you won't have to make those gross endless lines. I'm sure October will be much better. Plus it's only two months away!

Hey sweetie. I'm so sorry about your road trip. I know how much you were looking forward to it. There will be a next time. And I think your alternative plan to tour around your place like tourists is excellent. You'll never know what treasure you might find in your place. =) I hope you have a fun weekend hun. =)
