Young at heart.

I've been thinking lately about how much I miss being a kid. Maybe it's the fact that I'm teaching freshmen for the first time, many of whom are still adjusting from the "little kid" mentality to the "big kid" mentality. Or maybe it's the fact that I'm turning 32 in less than two weeks. (Yikes.)

Oh well, at least I'll always be young at heart. Even when I'm 80 years young.

Here are some things I miss from my childhood, in no particular order...

Wow, I am really dating myself with this post, huh? Oh wells... I'm a true child of the 80s, what can I say. ;)

What do you miss from your childhood?

You're not dating yourself at all!
I loved the Babysitter's Club and Sweet Valley! As well as the ever comfy jelly shoes. :)

i miss being able to do things without, well, things.

on a more thing-centric note, i miss sticker albums, swing sets, and Lego. the more i think about it, the more i want to run down to the store and buy a random Lego set for my dorm.

Yeah, throw in Full House and Blossom and you've pretty much got everything I miss from childhood as well! I'm happy to never see 80's fashion again, but man were there some amazing shows/toys/books. Ohhhhh childhood. :)

sorry, i got really, really behind on blog reading and commenting, so that's why you're getting comment overload from me.

anyway, i love all of those things! i had actually forgotten about the babysitter's club, but now i remember just how much i loved those books!

also, this will sound weird, but i used to eat mr. bubble bubbles in the bath.

and one more thing. i loved he-man and she-ra, so one year (maybe for my birthday, i can't remember) my mom took me to the civic center for a he-man and she-ra show! it was actors dressed as the characters and they put on a huge show, complete with all the great 80's lighting. and while i was at the show, i got a color-changing fiber optic wand type thing. it was awesome!
